Helicobacter Pylori (H. Pylori)
Common bacteria that selectively lives in the stomach. Most common cause of gastritis and gastric/duodenal ulcers. Has been linked to gastric cancer. Eradication improves symptoms of dyspepsia, gastritis, and peptic ulcers. Administering proton pump inhibitors are the first step in curtailing the effects of H. Pylori, followed by antibiotics to rid the system of the bacteria itself. Improving your diet with one rich in green such as broccoli sprouts reduces the chances of H. Pylori spreading and number of H. Pylori cells in your system. Most people who have H. Pylori are never diagnosed as having it, despite suffering from gastritis for years – in many cases unknowingly.
