Dr. Robin Baradarian of Brooklyn Gastroenterologist opened a new state of the art Endoscopy suite in Beth Israel Brooklyn. The new facility took over the old space that was once occupied by the former emergency department.
The new in hospital out patient facility for the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders was opened on February 28, during an exciting ribbon cutting ceremony.
Gastrointestinal Disorders (GI) are a digestive disorder that interferes with the workings of the intestine. GI generally falls into two categories — functional and inflammatory. Functional GI disorders, such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), chronic diarrhea, constipation and intestinal pain, are characterized by symptoms and not by a visible sign of disease or injury. Inflammatory GI disorders include Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Crohn's Disease and ulcerative colitis.
The new facility will allow for more patients to be tested and treated.
