Ian Wall, DO is a recent addition to the Brooklyn Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Associates and the Greater New York Endoscopy Surgical Center. His Medical training included both Gastroenterology at Maimonides Medical Center, where he served as chief fellow, and supplementary training in Liver Transplant Hepatology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Wall's clinical expertise spans the entire spectrum of gastrointestinal, pancreatic and biliary diseases--from common afflictions, to the rare and complex.

He has also undergone extensive endoscopic training in the field of gastroenterology-- including advanced endoscopic techniques, ERCP, and endoscopic ultrasound. As a result of this level of training, he routinely performs--via endoscopy, procedures that were previously reserved for surgical interventions, as well as advanced palliative treatments of gastrointestinal and biliary cancers. Dr Wall is the primary author of numerous publications concerning acute pancreatitis, rare pancreatic cancers and tumors, and peptic ulcer disease. He also authored a text book chapter describing the endoscopic management of pancreatic disorders.

These scholarly endeavors have gained national recognition from the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG). In 2009 he presented his landmark research, which was the first publication to clearly show a positive effect of intravenous hydration on improving mortality in acute pancreatitis at the international Digestive Disease Week.

Dr Wall earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Villanova University in Philadelphia, Pa. and his medical degree from Des Moines University in Iowa, an osteopathic medical school established in 1898. Dr. Wall's practice philosophy derives from the osteopathic tradition of holistic care, in that, an individual patient's gastroenterological disorder is best treated by evaluating it in the context of the body as a whole. Utilizing this centuries old philosophy of holistic medical treatment Dr. Wall's goal is to integrate cutting edge knowledge, treatments, and endoscopic techniques with a tradition of patient centered care.
